“I was very enthused about getting a commission from praeclarus. [She] has produced many great works in the past, and was looking forward to getting one as soon as my money came in. Throughout, she was very patient with what I was asking of her, and [she] had great knowledge on what would look good with what wood, and the type of style that would fit with what [I] was looking for. She kept me up to date on everything as it happened, sending me continuous pictures after she had carved down the shaft, and the handle, just to make sure that I was okay with what she had done so far.

When I had received the wand in the mail (ahead of when I was expecting, I might add) I didn’t want to open it at first. The wrapping around it, with the little details thrown in like ‘owl post’ and ‘approved by the ministry of magic’ wax seal was just too perfect to want to take off. It was exactly like I had gotten a wand in the films and/or books, just that feeling – it was just… made me in pure awe at that moment in time. But inside, there were a few good goodies hiding about, including a little note about my wand in lore as well as another letter that [she] had written personally to me. She just goes that extra few miles to make her customers feel that much more appreciated.

When I opened up the box, again that feeling of awe struck at me for a second time. I don’t know whether it was because I hadn’t seen the films in awhile, or been reading the books too much but from my standpoint (want to add that I hadn’t held the wand yet) it appeared smaller then I had thought. But after picking it up in my right hand, it just fit and clicked: perfect grip fit my hand perfectly; the shaft, I could see the grain pattern in it, and the handle (which she had used a wood burning tool on to make it appear as organic as possible) looked so amazing. But the bed of the wand, that was probably one of the most amazing parts of opening the wand. It was almost exactly the same as if opening a wand box in Ollivanders at Diagon Alley; plush, sitting in the tight area that held the wand, and the fabric looked and felt really soft, [it] made me want to pick up my wand and say something along the lines of “Wingardium Leviosa” And, I would just like to say thanks to Praeclarus Wands, for this amazing piece of artwork that I will be sure to cherish for a good, long while.”
